The Power of the Instant Message

What is it about human voice that limits a person? There is so much you can say online, I've noticed, that you wouldn't dream of saying to someone face to face, or even on the phone. I think there is the fact that you can see or hear a person's emotions in person or on the telephone. That can scare some people. I believe that knowing the feelings of another person can really affect what you choose to say or do. I feel like as soon as I get into a deep conversation online, I can tell anyone anything. It's all in the words you choose, and there's the backspace key. It's like heaven sent for people who can't choose the right words in live conversations. Like me. In AOL Instant Messenger, I like to write long paragraphs, and I have to edit them before I send them. The person I'm talking to will be saying " hello? what happened to you?" because I will be writing this long thing. And then all of a sudden, I overwhelm them with this refined essay, and they have to read it all.... wait! I'm exaggerating! Lets just say, that when I'm in the right mood, I'm quite talkative on AIM. But i have to be talking to someone who is also talkative or else I get bored.
Back to what I was saying. I just (about 2 minutes ago) admitted something to someone online that I haven't ever told my best friend. How does that work?
